Kindness

Be Kind.

In the over stimulated, not enough time in one day lives that many of us lead it’s very easy to take on the built up manic energy of the Christmas season.

Be Kind.

This is the time of year that many individuals transform into, well let’s just say – not quite themselves, don’t take this temporary persona personally.

Be Kind.

As a business owner or manager, please understand your staff may need some extra attention, caring and coaching. This can be a difficult time for some people due to extended work hours, schedule changes and the added pressure from a heated up consumer base.

Be Kind.

Employees and customers alike feel the pressure of the holiday season. Financially this time of year can be very difficult for many. Increased expenses, the worry of living up to the expectations from friends and family regarding gifts and social engagements can weigh heavy on many souls.

Be Kind.

Try not to take on the negative energy from those around you. Most people have good intentions, some just reach a boiling point, and this is not a reflection of you.

Be Kind.

This time of year it’s not uncommon for some Visa and debit machines to occasionally crash. Systems get overloaded by the huge increase in consumer transactions. This is a huge problem for retailers; believe me they don’t ever wish this to happen. They want your shopping experience to be as enjoyable and seamless as possible. If this does occur you can be assured they are doing everything in their power to get up and running again. Having some good old cash on hand has helped me out in this situation as it happen to occur in one of the shops I was in just this week. Please don’t yell at the staff when this occurs.

Be Kind.

This time of year we do see increased staff illness due to cold or flu. If you have an employee that is truly sick and requires time to heal, please allow them to do so without guilt or anger. If you have created a work environment that people enjoy working at, they want to get back to work as soon as possible- it’s where they shine!

Be Kind

Being kind to each other takes no more will than deciding not to be. The effects of being good to one another have long reaching positive effects that help nurture the positive values I hope we all share as business leaders, mentors, coaches, parents and beyond.

Merry Christmas one and all.
